Hand in Paw has been amazing from the moment I contacted them. I had a special place in my heart for a Lab, and when I found a certain pup with a huge smile on his face on their website, I sent off an email but I wasn't sure if or when I'd hear back. They responded in minutes, answering all of my questions. After many more emails and phone calls, they were kind enough to bring him all the way to San Diego to meet me. Not only was Hand in Paw great at communicating during the adoption process, but they've been in constant contact to make sure my guy is settling in well. I can't thank them enough for saving my new best friend.
We love Hand in Paw Rescue! Because of their determination and commitment to saving animals from kill shelters throughout Southern California, we found our sweet little Sophie. She is an absolute doll and has so much love to give. We are so grateful Hand in Paw Rescue brought her to us.
From the moment we met her, we knew she would be ours, and Hand in Paw Rescue made the adoption process incredibly easy. Within days, she was home with us starting her new life. Hand in Paw put Sophie's care first and made sure she was in the best of health before we adopted her. Hand in Paw Rescue took care of everything from Sophie's initial veterinarian examination, vaccines, medications, micro-chipping and her spay surgery. Hand in Paw Rescue's unwavering attention to Sophie's well being put us at ease and ensured Sophie had everything she needed before she came to us.
Piper from Hand in Paw Rescue is amazing to work with, and it is obvious that her love for animals is boundless. Even though we have had Sophie for a few weeks now, she still checks in with us to make sure Sophie is doing well and has everything she needs to be a happy doggie. We are honored to know her and call her a friend now and look forward to supporting Hand in Paw Rescue in the future. It is a very deserving organization, and we encourage all animal lovers to support their efforts.

We cannot begin to thank Hand in Paw Rescue enough for bringing Lola and Jax into our lives, and we are so honored to have the opportunity to give them the family they have always deserved. Our “party girl”, Lola’s mom, Daisy, was abandoned while pregnant with two puppies. Not only did Hand in Paw save Daisy’s life, but also the lives of her unborn babies (whom were delivered by Hand in Paw!!!). Thankfully, Lola never had to endure a moment in a shelter, thanks to the efforts of Hand in Paw rescue. Our little man, Jax, spent the first few months of his life being neglected and abused. Fortunately, Hand in Paw stepped in and saved his life. Knowing he would be the perfect “little big brother” for Lola, Hand in Paw sent a photo and it was love at first sight…. Not only for us, but for Lola as well. Now these two are enjoying their pampered lives, spending each day playing and getting into trouble together, and are showered with love.
Not only did Hand in Paw bring Lola and Jax into our lives, but they also matched our parents with adorable dogs as well. Our parents are all foster failures many times over and have adopted a total of four dogs from Hand in Paw. Pepper, Hank, Deedee, and Frankie have brought so much joy into our parents’ lives. They are all having a blast being spoiled and loved.
Hand in Paw sets itself apart from other rescues because they genuinely care for the well-being of each dog they rescue, and promote education on the dangers of breeding and puppy mills. They invest a great deal of time and effort ensuring each placement is the right fit for both the dog and their new family. I firmly believe that everyone has room in their heart and home to share with a pet, and when the time comes to give a furry friend their forever home, Hand in Paw rescue is the way to go. Thanks to Hand in Paw for all they do. Our family is truly complete because of you!

Hand in Paw is a wonderful rescue organization, which recognizes that every life is important and provides quality care for discarded and injured animals. Lovingly, they work alongside veterinarians, fosters, donors, and other rescue groups to network and save abandoned animals from shelters, and place them in permanent, caring homes.
Hand in Paw is the voice of the forgotten! My sweet wonderful Chihuahua, Athena, was rescued after being tossed aside in the garbage with the trash. Tragically abused, alone and crying out, she was taken to be euthanized. But Hand in Paw Rescue and their wonderful vet saw the spirit, determination, and will that this small little girl had for life! I knew the minute I saw little Athena’s story on Facebook, that I had to help somehow. I contacted Hand in Paw, and in a few minutes time, I had a message back, asking if I wanted to meet Athena. And that was the beginning of a new life for Athena to learn to trust again. Thank you so much Hand in Paw!
It is apparent that Hand in Paw is a voice for unwanted animals, and provides genuine care and compassion for each individual animal they rescue.
Hand in Paw does an amazing job at rescuing animals that are in dire need of being saved. My beautiful dog, Daisy, was rescued from a high-kill shelter while pregnant after being abandoned by her owner. Hand in Paw saved three lives that day, as Daisy had two beautiful puppies while under her care. The minute I saw Daisy's beautiful face, it was love at first sight. I am grateful everyday that Hand in Paw has given me my best friend! Such an amazing organization!!!

We are so happy to have fostered and adopted from Hand in Paw Rescue! Our love for animals only grows as we experience the love and affection these fortunate cast-offs so readily give. They truly are fortunate because there are so many that don't get saved and placed in loving homes. We have now adopted three dogs, and fostered two (actually, we also fostered two of the dogs we ended up keeping -- which made us "failed" fosterers -- but we couldn't help it!). We have seen in all the dogs we have met through Hand in Paw, an expression of gratitude that is undeniable. The trials and tribulations these dogs have been through has made them appreciate the newfound love they are given. And they do not take this love for granted.
The people at Hand in Paw Rescue help prepare the new pets for their new homes through grooming and appropriate veterinary services (vaccinations, neutering and even surgery when needed). And after their well-matched placements, they follow-up to make sure all is well. It is easy to see the dedication and love which is embodied in this organization. It is truly infectious! May it spread far and wide!!
With much gratitude,
Heba and Greg Wood
